Abstract: If we model the axion field quantum mechanically, how do the statistics of a continuous readout from a resonant detector change? In this talk, I demonstrate how to approach this question with the use of phase space representations, and show that the deviation from a classical treatment depends on both the DM state and the type of measurements being made. I will derive an expression for the joint probability distribution for an entire measurement record, and show how it naturally generalizes the classical case.
