Abstract:

I will discuss how a neutrino burst signal from the next galactic supernova can help us observe real-time physical conditions around the collapsed core. In particular, it may be possible to infer whether the conditions are optimal for the synthesis of certain proton-rich isotopes whose origin has been an enduring mystery.
