Abstract:
I will describe a new double-scaled matrix integral for the S-matrix of the c=1 string. This leads to a triality between two-dimensional string theory, its old one-dimensional matrix quantum mechanics dual, and a zero-dimensional matrix integral.
The matrix integral is derived from the recently constructed complex Liouville string. This construction connects recent developments in minimal strings and their applications to low-dimensional quantum gravity, including JT gravity, with the classic matrix quantum mechanics approach to noncritical strings and holography.
Based on work with S. Collier and L. Eberhardt.
